Much of our 6 Phase Methodology is based on PRINCE2 and PMBOK which reflects the requirements of most projects. At a high level we Discover; Analyse; Define. (At a Project Management Level we Initiate; Manage & Control and Close) The following 6 Phase Methodology adopted by C2D is the general approach to most assignments. Whilst the methodology is a core framework for an end‐end solution, the engagement structure may require all phases or only select phases to be performed by C2D.

Phase 1
CLIENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT

The first stage of Discovery is to understand all issues and challenges in order to gain a solid understanding of your current business ICT environment and therefore what is required to be addressed. Initially meetings are conducted with the sponsor to review overall objectives and gain a complete understanding of the issues and confirm stakeholder involvement and agree on milestones.

Phase 2
Research and Discovery

C2D will gain an understanding of the current environment through interviews with key people, workshops and specific information gathering. A key objective of the analysis and strategy is to ensure any new services support the business objectives and in doing so uncover essential business, technology, operational and political aspects that must be addressed by the engagement.

Phase 3
Identify Future Options

The future environment options will be considered through research and the experience of the consultant. This environment scan allows us to understand external influences and trends which may influence the options for consideration. The identification of factors will help deliver a valid strategy that is current, pragmatic and based on industry best practice.

Phase 4
Recommendations and Rationale

A business requirements statement is prepared where C2D identify realistic “fit for purpose” options which will help to achieve ICT priorities. This includes the framework/identification of the business drivers which impact the strategy, rationale for options considered and the implications on the various strategies on the organization.

Phase 5
Identify and Analyse Risk

The identification and analysis of risks provided further rationale for each options and a risk profiles of doing one option over another is compiled. The risks will consider technical, operational and financial considerations as well as current and future business implications.

Phase 6
Develop Design / Strategy

The defining of the Design / Business Strategy integrates all of the information gathered in the Discover and Analysis phase and develops the overarching strategy.  The key output inherent in the design / Strategy is the recommended approach, the rationale for the selection, the implications of adopting the approach in terms of benefits, risks and the overall operational perspective.
